What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a primary health care profession that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular and musculoskeletal complaints. It uses a hands on approach to your problem to increase mobility and flexibility and decrease pain and inflammation.
Who can it help?
Chiropractic can help anyone who has problems with
- Back pain
- Neck pain or stiffness
- Work-related injuries
- Sports injuries
How many sessions will i need?
This is dependant on the individual. Your age, your diagnosis, your overall health and the chronicity of the problem (how long the problem has been there) all affect the outcome of treatment. One of the practitioner's primary goals is to be as cost effective and to get you better as quickly as possible.
Will I be sore after treatment?
Yes! It is very likely that you will be sore after chiropractic treatment.
This is because we are moving joints that have been stiff for quite a while. Just like when you work out a muscle for the first time you experience muscle soreness the following few days. The more you strengthen the muscle the less post workout soreness you encounter and the more manipulation you receive the better you will feel after treatment.
Ice over the spine will help ease the pain. 15 mins on, 15 mins off, three times round.
Is it possible to be sore in new areas after treatment?
This is important information for your practitioner to know so that the entire body biomechanics can be attended to.
What is a maintenance consultation?
Maintenance is a preventative style of care. This is the way forward in countries such as Australia and America. Your health should be a top priority and maintenance care enables your body to be functioning to the best of it's ability.
